Don’t you wish you had a super power in high school? It probably would have made things a lot easier. But imagine being able to smell the future, or walk halfway through a wall, or uncontrollably float like a balloon 30 minutes after eating. These are not the traits you want to have when you’re already the weird kid at school. In “Super Useless”, these are the kind of ‘powers’ a group of misfit teens receive, making their frustrations with high school even more fervent.
These useless powers relate directly to the characters’ insecurities, forcing them to confront themselves. Eventually, they realize that they have the ability to overcome them. Everyone has shortcomings; everyone is insecure about something, especially at such a vulnerable time as high school. But everyone also has the power to overcome it; we all have value and worth beyond what we may realize.
